Here is their second CD for P.E.K. Sound, recorded at two live sessions during their four month tour of Europe and UK in 2001. Their distinctively earthy "down-home" style of New Orleans Jazz has made them a hit all over Europe. The line-up is Lindsay Meech tpt, Nick Polites cl, Charlie Powell tb, Ashley Keating bjo, Andy Ross bs and Kevin Bolton dms. The tunes include:- Making Runs, L.O.V.E., Kid Thomas Boogie, When You And I Were Young Maggie, Jambalaya On The Bayou, Anytime, Panama, I Got Drunk Last Night Baby. (69 mins)

THE LAINS BARN ALLSTARS "The Rascals Meet The Top Brass"

For musical ability and all-round entertainment this band is very hard to beat. But, because they don't have drums and they do have two saxes and a guitar, some jazz fans (without even hearing them) decide it's not their 'cup of tea'. This is a great pity; it really is a superb CD of top quality happy jazz. The line-up is Mike Wills and Tony Isaacs cl & saxes, Perry Lock pno, Dave Moorwood gtr & bjo, Geoff Hull bs. They are joined by two outstanding guests, Ben Cummings tpt and Micky Cooke tb. The tunes on this live CD include:- Swing That Music, Basin St Blues, Keeping Out Of Mischief Now, Maryland My Maryland, Wabash Blues, Indian Summer. (74mins)

TAFF'S NEW ORLEANS STOMPERS "Echoes of the Crescent City"

Late in 2001 when Taff and Connie Lloyd were in New Orleans with Norman and Sarah Thatcher they had the idea to form a new band to play old-style New Orleans jazz. They soon completed the line-up with Jeff Milner tb, Keith Box cl and Peter Wright bs. This live recording was one of their first appearances together, and if it is anything to go by the band has a bright future! The tunes include:- Just A Little While To Stay Here, Martha, Blue Hawaii, My Little Girl, Short Dress Gal, Bugle Boy March, Lord Lord Lord, When I Move To The Sky. (72mins)

On this excellent CD the Ken Colyer Trust Band are joined by several top class guests - Tom 'Spats' Langham bjo & gtr, Dave Clennell or Cuff Billett tpt, Nick Gill pno. The other, regular, band members are Alan Robinson cl, Len Baldwin tb, Micky Ashman bs and Malc Murphy dms. The result is I believe a huge success. The tunes include:- Sweetheart Of Sigma Chi, Hard Times, Solace, Gettysburg March, Wabash Blues, Jealous, I Believe In Miracles, Love Songs Of Long Ago, Please. Dave Clennell and Cuff Billet appear on 7 tracks each. (78 mins)

Tony Davis and Judy Eames have put together this band to play a musical tribute to Lee Wiley, one of the 'forgotten greats' of 1930s and '40s jazz. The music she sang comes from the golden era of popular song-writing, which sadly, in the world of traditional jazz, is largely neglected. Many of the songs have quite wonderful lyrics and often complex and very beautiful melodies. The line-up is Tony Davis tpt, Norman Field cl & alto, Frank Brooker ten sax, Malcolm Hogarth pno, John Barron gtr, Isabel Toner bs, Jim Denham dms & Judy Eames vocals. The tunes include:- Save Your Sorrow, A Woman's Intuition, I Gotta Right To Sing The Blues, Mammy O' Mine, A Ghost Of A Chance, Hot-House Rose, Strut Miss Lizzie, You Took Advantage Of Me, Let's Fall In Love. (71 mins)

This CD by the ever-popular John Maddocks Jazzmen contains tracks from two storming sessions at the 2002 Bude Jazz Festival. The band line-up (unchanged from 2001) is Alan Potton cornet, John Maddocks cl and saxes, Tony Farr tb, Peter Tamplin pno, Keith Dorey bjo and gtr, Stuart Gledhill bs, Brian Stockley dms. The tunes are:- Buddy's Habit, La Harpe St Blues, Move The Body Over, Creole Jazz, The Chant, Ce M'sieur Qui Parle, 2.19 Blues, Wild Cat Blues, Miss Jenny's Ball, Cielito Lindo, Just A Little While To Stay Here (69 mins)
